Carolyn Sue Yancey, 68, the daughter of James and Pearl (Spencer) Newton, was born July 26, 1944, in Kossuth, MS. She passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the UW Hospital in Madison, WI.

In 1950, her family moved to Kenosha, WI. She married Joseph Yancey in 1961. Then, in 1983, she moved to the Mauston area and married George Roberts in 1985. In 1994, she moved to Janesville and then she moved to Madison in 2005 to be close to her medical team.

Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her children, grand-children, great grand-children, her loving cat Cooper and friends. She was a wonderful and loving woman. She enjoyed bird watching, cooking, and playing word games and bingo. Prior to her illness, she was employed by Wal-mart in Janesville for eight years. Previous to her dedication at Wal-mart, she was a chef in various places, starting with Kenosha Yacht Club.

Survivors include her sister Barbara (Lawrence) Zettler, daughters Cynthia Allds, Christine (John) Trapp, son Kevin (Carri) Yancey, grand-children Tabitha (Jerod) Lecher, Savannah (Eric) Stoughtenger, Caitlin and Jessica Finnane, Coty Yancey and Tesa Rashel, great grand-children Addison and Corinne Lecher as well as a niece and nephew and relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by grand-parents, parents, Joseph Yancey, George Roberts and Mark Allds.

Visitation will be Friday, March 22, 2012 from 1 – 2 pm. Funeral services will be following at 2 pm at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville.

A special thanks to the UW Hospital Palliative Care Staff for keeping assisting in her comfort needs during her final days, and for all of their kind care and concern.

She holds a special place in the hearts of everyone who knew her and she will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, perennials would be greatly appreciated.
